This guide will walk you through adding Wavelength links to your social groups and website so that your alumni have the best opportunity to connect.
We help you communicate about Wavelength on Facebook, Linkedin, and your website.
Facebook and Linkedin
When you send out your onboarding email announcing Wavelength, add a post to Facebook and Linkedin group with the same content. Wavelength will help tailor your onboarding email, but here is a standard template for onboarding: Email Template: Introducing Users.
Add a link in your description to your Wavelength network to increase exposure. “Please visit [your url] to stay connected with [your organization]. You can donate, update your information, and find other members.”
In Facebook you can also add a Call to Action button. Under the banner, on the right side, press “Add Button.” When prompted, click the “Download your app or play your game” and select “Download app.” Then enter your Wavelength subdomain url.
Users can now click “Use app” to go to your Wavelength network, find other members, update their info, and donate.
Website
There are two places on your website to advertise your Wavelength network, your donate page, and your alumni page.
Donate Page
If you use Wavelength exclusively to process donations, your donate link can go directly to your Wavelength donate page. This donate page has an FAQ and other ways to give.
If you have multiple ways to process donations or want to give your alumni more context, add a brief overview of your donations and then link to Wavelength. A good description includes an overview of your organization and where these funds are going.
Alumni Page
Your alumni will visit your alumni page for resources that you provide. It is a perfect place to advertise your Wavelength network. Your description should answer two questions - “What is Wavelength” and “Why should I use Wavelength?”
Here is an example description:
“Welcome! We use Wavelength to really take advantage of [Org Names]’s network. [Org Name] members are generally helpful people and Wavelength makes it easy for you to get in touch with the correct people in our community. Having a single place where we all can keep data up to date, track donations, and email makes our lives easier.
Wavelength helps us with:
- Finding contact info for people who could be useful (e.g. in job / grad school / apartment search)
- Easy update to our profiles, so [org name] and others know what we are up to
- Simple privacy and subscription controls, so we only get the correspondences we want
- Tracking and managing our donations
